Greenwood, SC- Ulysses Dunlap, 70, of 133 Donegal Drive, husband of Connie Gilchrist Dunlap, departed this walk of life on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at his home. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Anthony Dunlap Sr. and the late Rosa Lee Harrison Dunlap. He was a Veteran of the United States Army where he retired and also retired from the South Carolina Department of Corrections where he worked a combined number of “29” years. He was the owner of Dunlap Landscaping, member of Smoking Corvette Club, Graduated from Greenwood High School Class of 1972, and was known for his male mentorship. He was a member of Tranquil A.M.E. Church, where he served as a Trustee, Church Security, Former Vice President of sons of Allen, former member of the male choir.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of “41” years, Connie Dunlap of the home; two sons, Ulysses Terrell Dunlap and Deandre Jovon Dunlap both of Greenwood, SC; two daughters, Sojourner (Alvin) Creswell Jennings of McCormick, SC and Milini Brown of Bradley, SC; three brothers, Rev. Anthony (Rev. Phyllis) Dunlap Jr. of Bradley, SC, David Dunlap of Augusta, GA, and Bobby Dunlap of Cross Hill, SC; three sisters, Celane Dunlap (Louden Butler) of Ninety Six, SC, Betty Dunlap of Greenwood, SC, and Henrietta (Walter) Bowie of Promised Land, SC; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives to mourn his passing.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Tranquil A.M.E. Church, conducted by Rev. Krystal F. Bryant. Burial will follow at the Evening Star Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 12 Noon. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2024, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
