Susie Mae Holloway Wade, 98, widow of the late Georgelle Wade, peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at her home. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Minnie Watts Holloway.
Mrs. Wade was a devoted member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as Queen Emeritus of the Church, she also served on the Hymn choir, Missionary Ministry, Pastor’s aide, a Greeter with the Hostess Ministry and she was a part of the kitchen committee where she was known as the Queen of the ham. She retired from the World Trade Center after many years of dedicated service. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Nathaniel “Tony” Wade, her parents and her siblings.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two grandchildren, Ivy (Arianna Leggett) Coleman of the home and Nathaniel Holloway of Greenwood; five great-grandchildren, R’Mani Holloway, Jayvon Coleman, Anjala Coleman, and Hakeem Whitfield of New York; along with a host of special nieces and nephews who were like her children: Judy Rouse, Elaine Childs, James William Richie, Sherman Lamar Richie, and John Thomas Richie; and many other great nieces and nephews and relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wade will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, with Archbishop Emanuel Spearman officiating, Elder Dr. Derrick Scott, presiding. Burial will follow in the Evening Star Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Robinson & Son Mortuary.
