Samuel Roy “Cigar” Martin, Sr., 77, widower of the late Linda Paulette Martin, departed this walk of life on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at his home. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Joseph “Joe” Martin, Sr. and Mamie Tolbert Martin Bosket.
Mr. Martin was a faithful member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Trustee Board. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph “Sonny” Martin, Jr., and one sister, Colette Sanders.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories two sons: Samuel Roy Martin, Jr. of Greenwood, SC, and Brian Graham (Hope) of Spartanburg, SC; one daughter: Jacqueline Dixon of Greenwood, SC, seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends
Funeral services for Mr. Samuel Roy Martin, Sr. will be conducted on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, with Reverend Otis Cunningham, Pastor, officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at their respective homes. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
