Ruth Johnson McCutchen, 89, of 201 Kenilworth Drive, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at the Hospice House & Palliative Care of the Piedmont. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on an Indian Reservation, she was the daughter of the late Grady Johnson and the late Maddie Davie Johnson. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Peterson, a granddaughter who she raised as her daughter, Stacy R. Francis, an older sister, Mary Canty and a younger brother, Willie Johnson. She is the last survivor of her immediate family.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a granddaughter, Theresa N. Peterson (Thomas Hackett Jr.) of the home, other grandchildren, Emmanuel Williams (Alice Moore), Sr. and John W. Williams, III, both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a great niece, LaVeina(Rodney) King of Atlanta, GA; thirteen great grandchildren, Tatiana Francis who was reared in the home, Breia Sanders, Chrishalon (Michael) Williams Thomas, Emmanuel Williams, Imani Williams, Malik "Finesse" Williams, Javon Williams,III, John Williams, III, Jo’Noah Hackett, Emmoree Hackett, Jawon Brown, Jarquavia "Lady" Matthews and Jayceon Williams; eight great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Services will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 2:30 pm, at the Chapel of Robinson & Son Mortuary, Inc. conducted by Rev. Eric Morton. Presiding will be Rev. Natasha Gresham. Public viewing will be from 1:00-6:00 pm, on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Robinson & Son Mortuary. The family is at the home. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
