Rufus James Hawkins

Ninety Six, SC- Rufus James Hawkins, 73, of 102 Golbys Nob, widower of Annie Elizabeth Hawkins, departed this walk of life on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at his home. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Junior Hawkins, and the late Susie Mae Lewis.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Rufus (Lisa Ann) Logan of Hodges; three brothers, William Lee Hawkins Sr., George Kennedy Hawkins Sr., and Terry Lynn (Louise) Hawkins Sr. all of Ninety Six; three sisters, Gloria Ann Chappelle, Annie Faye (Michael) Williams, and Brigitte Vernett (Kenneth) Chappelle all of Ninety Six; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Services will be 12:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Mays United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Gerald Clinkscales. Body will be placed in the church at 11:00 A.M.  Burial will follow in the Ninety Six Community Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc.
