Rufus Brunson

Greenwood, SC- Rufus Brunson, 89, of Greenwood, South Carolina, departed this walk of life on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the Hospice House of Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Arthur Brunson and the late Sarah Hall Brunson. Rufus was a member of Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee and an Usher, and a Veteran of the United State Airforce. He is also, preceded in death by two brothers, Benjamin F. Brunson and Arthur Brunson Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters, Donna Brunson of Glenarden, MD and Delphine Craig of Marietta, GA; three grandchildren; a beloved friend, Sarah Outz; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Services will be 3:00 P.M. on Saturday March 22, 2025, at Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Epworth, conducted by Rev. Dr. Danny R. Webb. Viewing will be from 2:00-3:00 P.M. on the day of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers and cards, please send donations to Alzheimer’s Research.
