Richard Quarles Jr

Richard "Shine" Quarles Jr., 67, of 214 Jebosha Drive, departed this walk of life on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the home of his daughter.

Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Willie Quarles and the late Janie Smith. He was a member of Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and he served as an usher.

He leaves to cherish his memories, three daughters, Renisha (Jamal) Latimer of Charlotte, NC, Aisha (Ervin Williams Jr.) Jackson of Greenville, SC, and Gwendolyn Williams of Greenwood, SC; six brothers, Hubert (Diane) Quarles, John Willie (Peggy) Quarles, Jimmy Quarles, Darnell Quarles, Robert (Mattie Ruth) Quarles, and Eugene Quarles all of Greenwood, SC; two sisters, Sharon Quarles, and Lois (Fred) Quarles, both of Greenwood, SC; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Services will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Dr. Danny R. Webb. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
