Register “Bunts” Nicholson, 87, of 7505 Highway 25 South, Ninety-Six, South Carolina, widower, of Annie Lee Lagroon Nicholson, departed this walk of life on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at his home. Born in Columbia, South Carolina he was the son of the late William Peterson and the late Charlesetta Nicholson Baylor. Register was raised by his grandparents, the late Earl and Alma Williams Nicholson.
He was a member of Flint Hill Missionary Baptist Church and Brewer High School class of 1955.
Register is preceded in death by, two sons, Stanley Nicholson and Reggie Curtis Nicholson, two brothers, William Baylor and Edward Baylor, two sisters, Doris Pugh and Elease Warren; and one grandchild, Treasure Perrin.
He leaves to cherish and honor his memories, two sons, Thomas (Vickie) Moss of Spartanburg, SC and Carl Moss of Greenwood, SC; three daughters, Doris Perrin, and Kitty (Curtis) Cannon both of Greenwood, SC and Rev. Dr. E. Montrez Nicholson of Woodbridge, VA; two brothers, Earl Baylor of Maryland and Herman Peterson of Tennessee; two sisters, Elizabeth Early of Maryland and Ruby Goodwin of Greenwood, SC; a daughter-in-law, Jodie Nicholson of Orlando, FL; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Baylor of Washington, D.C. and Linda Suswell of Greenwood, SC; two special caregivers, Andrea McDowell and Alma Nicholson who is also a cousin; three special cousins, Janie Talbert, Mary Nicholson, and Susie Nicholson Harris; twelve grandchildren, two grandchildren who were born in the home, Johnathan (Laine) Culbreath of Alexandria, VA and Natasha (Ken) Cummings of Simpsonville, SC; twenty great grandchildren and one Great-great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Register “Bunts” Nicholson will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. Flint Hill Missionary Baptist Church and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Ronnie Williams and Presiding will be Rev. Rodney Currie. Public viewing will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Robinson and Son Mortuary. The family is at the home of a daughter, Doris Perrin, 1220 Mathis Road, in Greenwood. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
