Nathaniel "Nate" Hearst Jr.

Greenwood, SC- Nathaniel “Nate” Hearst Jr., 62, of 1116 Brannon Street, husband of Stellas Hearst, transitioned from earth to heaven on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at his home. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina he is the son of Mary Jones Hearst, and the late Nathaniel Hearst Sr. Nathaniel had other nicknames that he was called by family and friends, such as “Pumpkin” and “Black Jack”. He was a Member of Piney Grove A.M.E. Church. He is preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Hearst and a sister, Lillie Hearst.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of “38” years, Stellas Hearst of the home; his mother, Mary Hearst of Greenwood, SC; one son, Harry (Latoya) Wharton of Edgewood, MD; one daughter, Shonda Tolbert of Greenwood, SC; three brothers, Windell Hearst of Greenwood, SC, Barry Reid of Greenville, SC, and Charles Lockhart of Denver, CO; two sisters, Wanda Davis of Greenwood, SC and Willie Yvonne Hearst of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Pine Grove A.M.E Church, conducted by Elder Dr. Derrick Scott. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
