Greenwood, SC- Lulu Mae Booker Woodward, 91, formerly of Union, South Carolina, widow of Coleman Woodward, gained her angel wings on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at NHC Healthcare of Greenwood. Born in Union, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Willie Booker and the late Victoria Sims Booker. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church located in Union, South Carolina where she served as an Order of the Eastern Star #169, Deaconess, and Women’s Home Aide Society. She is preceded in death by one son, Master Sargent Thomas Edward Woodward; her only brother, Willie Booker Jr.; and one grandchild, Calvin Lamont Woodward.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Russell Coleman (Yvonne) Woodward of Greensboro, NC; four daughters, Rev. Katherina W. (Rev. Lionel) Richardson of Greenwood, Vanessa Victoria Sartor of Union, SC, Loretta (Earl) Wilkerson of Lewisville, TX, and Ruby Jean Shelton of Spartanburg, SC; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a god-daughter, Geraldine Kelly; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Services will be 12 Noon on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Coronaca, conducted by Rev. Michael Butler and Rev. A.L. Brackett assisting. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:30 A.M. until 12 Noon. Burial will follow at St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery, 308 Wallace Street, Union, South Carolina.
