Louise M. Holmes, 74, wife of James “Cuda” Holmes of 117 Holmes Road, Greenwood, S.C. passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Hospice House of the Piedmont.
Born in Greenwood County, she was the daughter of the late Willie J. Morton, Sr, and the late Lossie W. Morton. Louise was a graduate of Brewer High School class of 1970 and was employed by Self Regional Hospital for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Ernest, Raymond, Willie, Curtis and Joseph Morton; two sisters, Mary Dorothy Sprowl and Julia A. Rollinson.
Her memories will be cherished by her husband of 49 years, James “Cuda” Holmes, and son James Holmes, Jr. Two sisters, Martha A. Sanders, Greenville, S.C. and Bertha Senior of Bronx, N.Y. Sister-in- laws, Hattie B. Morton, Vera White, Annette Carter, Evelyn Tonnic, and Sally A. Morton of Murrieta, CA, one brother-in-law, John (Mary) Holmes and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to cherish her memory.
Families are at their respective individual homes.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the Chapel of Robinson & Son Mortuary, Inc, Officiating Reverend Jerry Brown and Presiding Evangelist Fannie Clark. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc.
