Greenwood, SC- Lonnie Alvin Harris, 65, of 103 Furman Street, husband of Deborah Roundtree Harris, departed this walk of life on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Born in Ninety-Six, South Carolina he was the son of the late Ira Taylor and the late Jennie Mae Harris Taylor. He was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Crosshill, South Carolina and a Veteran of the United States Army. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Vonetta Harris; three brothers, Charlie Harris, Eddie Harris and Terry Culbreath; one sister, Ruby Lee Harris-Culbreath; and one grandson, Marlo Lamont Harris Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of “23” years, Deborah Harris of the home; one son, Marlo Lamont (Talisha) Harris Sr. of Greenwood, SC; two daughters, Shaundrell Harris (Keldrick Payne) of Ninety Six, SC and Dana (Carlos) Washington of Columbia, SC; one stepson, Michael (Tequila) Cohen Jr. of Greenwood, SC; two step daughters, La'Shondra Smith and YaSheka Roundtree both of Greenwood, SC; one brother, Ernest Harris of Greenwood, SC, Sisters, Donna(Derrick) Witt and Tammy (Barry) Moses; one aunt, Bobbie Etta Holloway ; twelve grandchildren, one which was reared in the home, Mi’kevious Cohen; three great grandchildren; a mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alvin and Ella Roundtree; sister-in-law's, Tammy Sampson and Twanna Roundtree, both of Greenwood; brother-in-law's, Keith Roundtree, of Greenwood and Greg Partlow, Ozark, Alabama; a special Niece, Angela Cook, and a host of other relatives and friends mourn his passing.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church, conducted by Archbishop Emmanuel Spearman. Burial will follow at the Evening Star Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com. Arrangements are being handled by Robinson and Son Mortuary Inc.
