Larry Thomas “Chest” Johnson, 68, of 304 North Hospital Street, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Self Regional Healthcare. Born in greenwood, he was the son of the late Thomas Martin and the late Janie Lou Johnson. He was a self-employed landscaper and handy man and the owner of Johnson and Johnson Landscape. He joined Morris Chapel Baptist church at a young age, and he was currently attending Pine Grove A.M.E church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Roshonda Anderson and Mygeisha Freeman and one sister, Willie Mae Workman.
He leaves to cherish his memories, three sons, Darreain (Michelle) Smith, Jeremiah Johnson and Lorenzo Johnson; three daughters, Aqakjah Johnson, Delphia Turner and Dominique Johnson; five brothers, Samuel (Clara Jean) Johnson, John Johnson, Scott Johnson, Randy Johnson and Zack Martin; one sister, Sharon Johnson; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends to cherish his memory.
Services will be held, Monday, January 6, 2025, at 11:00 A.M., at Pine Grove A.M.E Church, in Hodges with Rev. Gregory Singleton, Officiating, burial will follow at Evening Star Cemetery. Viewing will be Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Robinson and Son Mortuary from 1-6 P.M. The family is at the home, services have been entrusted to Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc.
