Katie Mae Bonds Butler

Greenwood, SC- Katie Mae Bonds Butler, 81, of 728 White Oak Lane, widow of her first husband Sterling Bonds and her second husband John Allen Butler, gained her angel wings on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Hospice House of Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont. Born in Edgefield, South Carolina she was the daughter of the late Fleming Ervin Sr. and the late Emma Lou Gilliam Ervin. She was a member of Zion Temple SDA Church. She is preceded in death by two sons, Carl Anthony Mosely and John Allen Arnold; one stepson, Anthony Camper; one brother, Fleming Pete Ervin; three sisters, Mary Tutt, Martha White, and Mattie Hurley; and one granddaughter, Trell Baker.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Tana Bonds (Jermine Minyard) of Greenwood, SC and Emma Jean (Windell) Davis of Philadelphia; one brother, Leroy Ervin; four sisters, Janie Ruth (John) Anderson, Sadie (Gregory) Jackson of Columbia, SC, Cathy Thomas, and Vernester Hernandez of Greenwood, SC; five grandchildren, two which were reared in the home, Jakeem Grant and Jerdaisha Minyard; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, Zion Temple SDA Church, conducted by Rev. Horace Malone. Burial will follow at the Evening Star Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2024, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. The family will be at the home of a sister, Janie Ruth Anderson, 309 Virgin Drive, Hodges, SC 29653.
