Joseph Chiles, 85, of 1211 Gum Avenue, husband of Aggie Mae Goodwin Chiles, departed this walk of life on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at his home. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina he was the son of the late Robert Chiles, Sr. and the late Mamie Goode Chiles. He was a member of Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Epworth. Joseph is preceded in death by four brothers; Eddie Chiles, Robert Chiles, Sr., Arthur Chiles and Simpson Chiles, and two sisters; Mary Mitchell and Eugenia Andrews.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of “64" years, Aggie Mae Chiles of the home; two sisters, Annie L. Harrison of Greenwood, SC and Sarah Davis of Buffalo, NY; a sister-in-law, Annette Chiles of Ashbury Park, NJ; a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, godchildren, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Epworth, with Rev. Dr. Danny R. Webb, Pastor and officiating, Rev. Sharon McGill, Presiding. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 P.M., burial will follow in the Evening Star Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc.
