Johnny Frank Covington III, 24, of 121 Balsam Lane, entered into eternal rest, on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at his home. Born March 21st, 2000, in Greenwood, South Carolina, he was the son of Johnny Frank Covington Jr. and Bertha Mae Covington. He is preceded in death with his paternal grandfather Johnny Frank Covington Sr., and his maternal grandmother Rev. Mattie Mae Tolden Hardy.
Johnny was a graduate of Greenwood High Class of ’18, he enjoyed making music, traveling, and family gatherings; where he was known as “the life of the party,” with such a bright spirit, he was so much to so many people, but the one thing he valued and took the most pride in was being a father, everything that he did, he did with his children in mind. The memories they shared will forever remind them of how much he loved them. Known for his ability to create moments full of excitement and love. He was a master at causing smiles, jokes, and laughter simultaneously, which endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He leaves to cherish his memories his father and mother, Johnny and Bertha Frank Covington Jr., of Greenwood, SC; three sons, Malakhi Covington, of Greenwood, SC, Harlem Covington of Greenville, SC, and Braylen Covington of Greenwood, SC; his only daughter, Maliyah Covington of Greenwood, SC; two sisters, Sherita Butler of Greenwood, SC and Tishena Morgan of North Augusta, SC; paternal grandmother, Barbara H. Covington of Greenwood; maternal grandfather, Amos Hardy, Sr. of North Augusta, SC Godfathers James Hardy of McCormick, SC, and Herman Crosson of Monroe, GA and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Flint Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Officiating, Minister Sheena Hamilton and Presiding, Rev. Deirdra Higgins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
