John E. Johnson

Mr. John Elder Johnson, 77, of 113 Wise Wood Circle, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Magnolia Manor in Greenwood. Born in Abbeville, South Carolina, he was the son of the late John L. Johnson and Alice Bell Austin Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was a faithful member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Abbeville, where he served as a member of the choir and the usher board.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lillie Mae Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: one son, James Johnson of Greenwood; one daughter, Stephanie (Anthony) Williamson of Greenwood; one brother, James Johnson of New York; one sister, Sallie Booker of the home; one grandson, Jamerious Montell Johnson, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Gravesides services for Mr. John Elder Johnson will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, with the Arch Bishop Emanuel Spearman, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The family is receiving friends at the home, 113 Wise Wood Circle. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
