John Robert Holmes

Greenwood, SC- John Robert Holmes, 83, of 126 Morton Road, husband of Mary Smith Holmes, departed this walk of life on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Self Regional Healthcare. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Robert Holmes and the late Mamie Perrin Holmes Hackett. He was a member of Jacob Chapel Baptist Church and a Veteran of the United States Army.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of "32" years, Mary Holmes of the home; two daughters, Teresa Holmes of Surprise, AZ and Marsha (Steven) Ikner of Stafford, VA; one brother, James Holmes of Greenwood, SC; three sisters, Evelyn Tonic and  Annette Carter both of Promised Land, SC, and Vera White of Greenwood, SC; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Jacob Chapel Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jerry Brown. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be 1-6 P.M. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Robinson & Son Mortuary, Inc. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
