Jessie Lee (White) Hackett

Mrs. Jessie Lee White Hackett, 85, wife of Mr. Moses Hackett Sr., of 229 Saco Avenue, departed this life on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Self Regional Healthcare.

Born in Edgefield, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Rosa Lee Lagoon White. Mrs. Hackett was a devoted member of Flint Hill Baptist Church and a former employee of Regal Mills.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son, Leslie Hackett Sr.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Moses Hackett Sr., of the home; five sons: Moses (Lucinda) Hackett Jr. and Joseph (Jacqueline) Hackett Sr., both of Greenwood; Otis Bernard (Yvonne) Hackett Sr., of the home; Thaddeus (Gwen) Hackett Sr., of Atlanta, GA; and Timothy (Christie) Hackett Sr., of Ninety Six, SC; two daughters: Barbara Jean Hackett of Anderson, SC, and Elizabeth Hackett of Greenwood, SC.

She is also survived by two brothers: Roosevelt White of Greenwood and Henry J. (Josie Mae) White of Washington, D.C.; two sisters: Janie (Ernest) Moton of Greenwood and Josie Mae Brown of Hodges;  twenty-nine grandchildren, eighty-two great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Lee White Hackett will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, 11 A.M, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, with Pastor Lucinda Hackett, Officiating and Apostle Arthur Lee Williams, Presiding, burial to follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Robinson and Son Mortuary. The family is receiving friends at the home, 229 Saco Avenue, and also at the home of her son, 233 Wheatfield Drive. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
