Jacquelyn Martin Obituary

Jacquelyn Johnson Martin, 66, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, at Atrium Health Pineville.

Jacquelyn was born on October 16, 1959, in Greenwood, South Carolina, to the late Ozzie Johnson and Edna Jackson Johnson. She was a proud graduate of Greenwood High School and later attended Queens College.

Jacquelyn was preceded in death by her father, Ozzie Johnson; her mother, Edna Jackson Johnson; her brother, Welin Johnson; her father-in-law, Hollie Martin Sr.; and her mother-in-law, Mellie Martin.

She dedicated many years of service to LQOR Call Center before retiring in 2024. Jacquelyn enjoyed singing and had a deep passion for cooking and baking, often expressing her love through the meals she prepared for family and friends.

She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Hollie Martin Jr., and a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Jacquelyn's warmth, strength, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Temeka Johnson of the home; Tamara (Terry) Harris of Buffalo, New York; Lakesha Smith and Shaye Smith, both of Greenwood, South Carolina; Tristen (Charlie) Mathis of Italy; Hollie Martin III of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Shannon (Kendra) Martin of Anderson, South Carolina.

She is also survived by her sisters, Phylis (Cullen) Lomax of Taylors, South Carolina, and Rosalyn (Emmanuel) Johnson of Charlotte, North Carolina; her sister-in-law, Dora Martin of Greenwood, South Carolina; and her brother-in-law, Jonathan Martin.

Jacquelyn was a proud grandmother of 26 grandchildren, five of whom she lovingly helped raise in the home: Shanice Johnson, Tyrell Johnson, CJ Johnson, Kenya Johnson, and Kentrell Johnson, all of Charlotte, North Carolina. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren.

She held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews, including Tiffanie (Antonio) Speach of Austell, Georgia; Doug Lomax II of Greenville, South Carolina; Wynton Lomax of Taylors, South Carolina; and Stephin Roberts of Brooklyn, New York, along with a host of other great-nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends who mourn her passing.
