Greenwood, SC- Gladys Mae Lindsey Jackson, 89, of 451 Grace Street, gained her angel wings on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Self Regional Healthcare. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Henry Lindsey and the late Jessie Griffin Lindsey. She was a member of St. Vaughnville Baptist Church and previously attended Sidney Park C.M.E. Church in Columbia, South Carolina and Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church in Bronx, New York. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Alesia Wanda Jackson Chestnut.
She leaves to cherish her memories, three sons, Lee Vernon Lindsey of Brooklyn, New York, George Henry Lindsey of Greenwood, SC and Robert Talmadge (Lisa) Jackson of New Jersey; three daughters, Renee Jackson of Bronx, New York, Bobbye Jackson Parks of Greenwood, SC and Tanya Jackson (Stan) Brown of Blythewood, South Carolina; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; a nephew that was reared in the home, Vincent Lindsey of Virgina; a daughter/niece, Sandi Chappelle of Georgia and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Monday, May 19, 2025, at St. Vaughnville Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Edward Moultrie. The body will be placed in the church at 12 noon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Robinson & Son Mortuary, Inc. The family is at the home of her daughter, Bobbye Jackson Parks, 606 Magnolia Drive in Magnolia Place Subdivision. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
