Mrs. Gladys Marie Culbreath Jabber, 93, of Ninety-Six, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 6, 2026, with the love of her family surrounding her.
Mrs. Jabber was born to the late Louise Butler Culbreath and Thomas Culbreath on December 25, 1932, in Chappells, SC. She was married to the love of her life, Clarence Jabber Sr., for 56 years before his passing. Mrs. Jabber lived a long and meaningful life devoted to her family and loved ones.
Mrs. Jabber attended Saluda County public schools during her pivotal educational years. She accepted Christ in her early years and was affiliated with the Branch Hill Methodist Church. She served as a faithful member of Young Mount Zion Baptist Church and later joined Pleasant Rock Baptist Church with her husband. There, she was a dedicated member of the PRBC's Pastors' Aide Society, Women's Ministry, Deaconess Ministry, and Senior Choir. Mrs. Jabber retired from Southern Brickyard after 32 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence Jabber Sr.; her daughter, Eunice Lewis; and her son, Clarence Jabber Jr.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory of her children: Earlene King; Gloria "Peggy" (George) Williams; Fredrick Jabber; Cokeltto (Ra-shan) Lindsey; James Jabber; and Deon (Jerry) Leverett. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Gail Jabber and Joyce Jabber; godson, Charles Carter and goddaughters, Joyce Harts and Towanda "Cookie" Harts; devoted nieces, Michelle Kleintop and Priscilla Gray as well as nephews, Donchell Hill and Phillip Williams. Chosen daughter Hazel Herd and "Christian Friend" Mackie Harts. Shantell Norris, who was reared in the home.
Mrs. Jabber was a nurturing grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother to many, including: Richard Kinloch, Kimberly Gillard, Aaron Wallace; Clarence Cornell Javis Jabber III (London and Ava), Jason Jabber (Ja'siah), Talitha Jabber, Jada Jabber; Christa (Isaac) Tate (Nadia, Haidan); Ashley (Graham) Belcher (Jeremiah (Khylinn), Collin, Ava, Ashlyn, and Grayley); Olivia Jabber; Victoria Jabber (Kamden); MaDeja Leverett; Ian (Jameshia) Leverett (Islynd); Autumn Leverett; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends who will deeply miss her.
Also surviving is her brother, Robert Culbreath and sister, Dorothy Jean Hill of Norristown, PA as well as a loving sister-in-law, Merly. She was preceded in death by siblings Nathaniel, Ernest, Willie, Herman, James, Thomas, Cora Lee, Deloris, and Theola.
Mrs. Jabber's life was a testament to love, strength, and dedication to family. Her presence, wisdom, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 1:00P.M. at Young Mt. Zion Baptist Church followed by the burial and repast at Pleasant Rock Baptist Church. The family will be receiving friends at the Jabber home on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Public viewing will be held Friday, March 13, 2026, from 1-6pm at Robinson and Son Mortuary, inc. online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
