Gladys Hill Ethridge, 87, formally of 821 Springs Street, widow of Johnny Ethridge, departed this walk of life on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Home Hospice Care. Born in Ninety-Six, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy Hill and the late Lucille Reeder Hill. She was of the Baptist Faith, and she is preceded in death by three sisters; Sophia McKenney, Lillie Mae Harris, and Geneva Leverette; four brothers: Odell Jimmy, Rufus and Eugene Hill and one daughter, Sarah Phelps, and one grandson, Harry Tyree Phelps.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one brother, Julius Hill (Texas), five daughters; Shirley Ethridge (Neal Jackson), Carol (Dexter) Harp, Linda (Willie) Gilchrist, Teresa (Douglas) Cartledge all of Greenwood, Hope (Tyron) Jones of Florence; two sons, Johnny Ethridge (Rena) of Columbia, and Randy Ethridge of Greenwood; Grandchildren (17), Great-grandchildren (34), Great- Great grandchildren (1), Nieces, Nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Macedonia Baptist Church, with Rev. Deloris Henderson, Pastor and Presiding, Elder Dr. Derrick Scott, officiating, Burial will follow at Pine Pleasant Baptist church cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 1-6 P.M. at Robinson and Son Mortuary.
