Mrs. Gertrude Bolden, of 702 Chipley Avenue, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Self Regional Medical Center. Born on July 10,1947 in Laurens County, South Carolina she was the daughter of the late Ed and Mamie Todd Grant. She was preceded in death by two sons; Eddie Lee Grant and Jimmy Lee Bolden; four brothers, David Grant, James Grant, Eddie Grant, and Price Grant; three sisters, Pauline Anderson, Phyllis Cook and Nellie Louise Grant; three brothers in laws, Willie Earl Cook, Robert Lee Anderson, and Albert Lawton; and one daughter in law Chansay Ross Bolden.
She was educated in the public schools of Laurens County, and she attended Laurel Hill Baptist Church in Waterloo, South Carolina.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: three daughters; Wanda (John Hentz) Green, Tameika Spencer and Saquetta Spencer; three sons, Bobby L. (Gloria) Bolden of Cross Hill, SC, Stanley (Felicia) Bolden, and Darrell Bolden both of Greenwood, SC; two brothers, Cecil (Alberta) Grant of Greenwood, and Randy Miller of Waterloo; one sister, Ola Lawton of Waterloo; twelve grandchildren ,three which were reared in the home, Keycia Bolden, Demetrius Bolden, and Robert Bolden; one sister in law Jessa Grant; a special niece, Earline White of Waterloo, SC; two special friends Sirbrennia Witt and John Elmore; and host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Graveside Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Smith Cemetery located in Waterloo, South Carolina, conducted by Rev. Guy Ross. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Thursday April 20,2023 at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. Please be mindful and practice social distancing and wear a mask.
