Ethel Ernestine (Turner) Murray

Mrs. Ethel Ernestine Turner Murray, 83, of 49 Stockman Street, Greenwood, South Carolina, widow of James Murray, departed this walk of life on Monday, May 25, 2026 at her home. Born in Troy, South Carolina she was the daughter of the late Charlie Turner and the late Annabelle Holloway Turner.

Ethel was a member of New China Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and was a member of the Women’s Aide Society #89.

She is preceded in death by one son, Tracey Lee Murray; two brothers, Frederick Turner and James Turner; one sister, Mary Lou Connor; one grandchild, Kevin Hill and her longtime companion, Willie Maurice Perkins.

Ethel leaves to cherish her memories, four sons, James F. Turner of Greenwood, SC, Dwight (Cathy) Murray of Greenville, SC, Wayne Murray of Spartanburg, SC, and Steve (Denise) Murray of Ninety Six, SC; four daughters, Mary (Larry) Johnson of Promised Land, SC, Theresa Murray and Dorothy (Michael) Hill both of Greenwood, SC, and Carolyn (Rev. Albert) Bell of McCormick, SC; one sister, Beatrice Deloach of Simpsonville, SC; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Services for Mrs. Ethel Earnestine Turner Murray will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Robinson & Son Mortuary, Inc with Elder Thomas Connor, officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 1:00 P.M. until 6:00P.M., at Robinson & Son Mortuary.
