On December 29th, 1949, Eliot Roosevelt Gould was born in Monrovia in the Republic of Liberia, West Africa to the late parents Benny and Comfort Gould. Eliot moved to the United States at a young age and continued his education as a Machinist at the Opportunities Industrialization Center in Rhode Island. He was a member of the Union as a Boilermaker, and a jack of all trades, building houses, not only in SC, but in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Eliot accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He spent his career as a self taught pianist with a God gifted ear for music at countless churches since the age of 11 enjoying piano and organ playing among other instruments. After retirement, he became a faithful member of Cokesbury Baptist Church for approximately 10 years where he praised God thru singing and writing music.

In his spare time he would volunteer to drive for the Federation of the Blind for over 5 years. He also attended Piedmont Agency of Aging Greenwood Senior Center for 1 year where he met his fianc* Mary F. Piper. *BooJew* as he was affectionately called, will be missed by all who knew him. His favorite quote: Find yourself. Know where you came from. Know where you*re going.*

Eliot peacefully made his transition to Glory at the young age of 76 on January 11th, 2026 at Self Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Roger Gould, four sisters, Williette, Josephine, Benita, and Marie Gould, two grandchildren, Toni B. and Isabell Joi Walker, along with a host of relatives and friends.
