Edith Davis Moore

Greenwood, SC- Edith Davis Moore, 87, of 307 Jackson Avenue, widow of David Moore, departed this walk of like on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Abbeville Area Medical Center. Born in Abbeville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late George Davis and the late Alice Davis. She was a member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Hodges, SC where she served as a stewardess, and a member of the missionary society, and a choir member. She was a great cook and baker, always baking cakes and other treats for friends and family. She retired from Walmart; a job she loved as she was a people person. She is preceded in death by a son Chris Moore, three brothers, William Davis, George Hayward Davis, and Marzel Davis, and six sisters, Alberta Chamberlain, Mae Ella Scott, Alice Nicholson, Essie Wright, Thelma Bowers, and Daisy Patterson.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Danny Moore (Adrianne Carter) of Winston Salem, NC; two daughters, Judy (Thomas) Martin of Troy, SC and Delane Moore of Winston Salem, NC;  two special nieces, Janie Aiken and Betty Moore; seven grandchildren, two who were special to her heart, Angela (Daniel) Stokes, and Melvin (Donna) Lewis; four great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Services will be 12:00 Noon on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Hodges, South Carolina, conducted by Rev. Milton Aiken. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
