Eddie Mae Childs Sayles

Greenwood, SC- Eddie Mae Childs Sayles, 71, of 1548 Parkway, Apt.3-C, widow of John Robert Sayles Sr., gained her angel wings on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Self Regional Healthcare. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina she was the daughter of the late Elbert Childs Sr. and the late Georgia Bell Brown Harris. She is preceded in death by a brother, Elbert Childs Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, John Robert (Duchess) Sayles Jr. of Greenwood, SC and Michael Tyrone Sayles of Abbeville, SC; one daughter, Tanya Sayles (Landareus Duncan) of Greenwood, SC; one sister, Janie Lee Webb of Greenwood, SC; nineteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Ella (Alvin) Roundtree, and Patricia Carter both of Greenwood, SC; her stepfather, Curtis Harris; a special friend, James Jackson; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Services will be 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Epworth, conducted by Rev. Dr. Danny Webb. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
