Earnest Jay Jr. Obituary

Earnest Jay Jr., 84, of Greenwood, South Caarolina, husband of Kathleen Jay, departed this walk of life on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Self Regional Healthcare. Born in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Earnest Jay Sr. and the late Essie Bell Johnson. Earnest was also a veteran of the United States Army.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of “27” years, Kathleen Jay of Abbeville, SC; two sons, Donald (Lauri) Garnett of Austin, TX and Lawrence Jay of Fayetteville, NC; one daughter, Meredyth Morris of Waldorf, MD; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
