Douglas "Jack" Hawes

Douglas "Jack" Hawes, 74, of 1548 Parkway Apt 4C, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Roosevelt Polk and the late Emma Josephine Hawes.

He enjoyed cooking and barbecuing for his friends and family.He especially enjoyed making his famous pepper steak and rice for his daughter. At the time of his passing he loved the community he lived in and enjoyed spending time with and playing cards with his neighbors.

He is preceded in death by one brother, Monroe Hawes and three sisters, Joann Hawes and Majestic Hawes  both of New York and Mamie Lee "Cooter" Hawes of Greenwood, SC. He leaves to cherish his memories one son, Douglas Anderson of Atlanta, Georgia ; one daughter Tameisha (Edward) Brown of Greenwood, SC; two sisters Betty Jean (Walter) Williams of Greenwood, SC and Barbara Brown of New York; four grandchildren and a host of neices, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Memorial Services will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the chapel of Robinson & Son Mortuary, Inc.
