Donald E. Starks, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, at the age of 67.
Born on December 10, 1958, in Greenwood, South Carolina, Donald was the son of the late Lucius Starks, Jr. and Lucille Starks. He was the grandson of the late Roosevelt and Angus Dean and the late Lucius Starks, Sr. A graduate of Greenwood High School’s Class of 1977, Donald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.
Donald was a loving and devoted father to his two sons, Gary (Crystal) Davis of Greenwood, South Carolina, and Donovan Starks of Sarasota, Florida; and one daughter, Kayla Starks of Atlanta, Georgia. He also leaves to cherish his memory three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his children and descendants, Donald is survived by his brothers, Lucius (Jeanette) Starks III and Stanley (Priscilla) Starks, both of Cokesbury, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Baylor. He is also survived by his uncle, James (Roberta) Sibert of Dayton, Ohio; his aunt, Ida Clark of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Services for Mr. Donald E. Starks will be conducted on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 12:00 Noon at the Little River Multicultural Complex in Hodges, South Carolina, with Reverend Otis Cunningham presiding and Reverend Carlton Klugh officiating. Entombment will follow at Oakbrook Memorial Park. Public viewing will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Robinson & Son Mortuary. The family is at the home of his son, Gary Davis, 110 Lakeview Road, Greenwood, South Carolina. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
