Dersenia Blakley

Dersenia Blakley, widow of George Blakley, Sr. departed this walk of life on October 2, 2022 at Baptist Easley Hospital. Born August 14, 1952 in Bridgeport Connecticut, to the late Arlandus Geer.and the late Rev. Louise Martin Speed. She attended Harding High in Bridgeport and later received her GED. Dersenia was formerly employed with Mohawk Industries as a Weaver. She was a faithful member of Christian Hope Baptist Church in Ware Shoals.

Dersenia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; siblings, Jessie Speed, Charlie Speed, Jr., Rebecca Richardson, Horace Geer, Shirley Geer, Laura Jean Carter.

Dersenia leaves a legacy of love, one daughter, Sekema Blakley, of the home; two sons, George (Tarana) Blakley, Jr., and Horace “Brad” (Sharon) Blakley, all of Anderson; one brother, John (Gloria Jean) Geer, of Abbeville; three sisters, Katherine Geer, of Simpsonville; Jackie Geer, of Anderson; and Audrey Moss, of Abbeville; nine grandchildren, two grandsons reared in the home, Jontavius Lamar Blakley and Jered Josiah Wayne Davis; grandchildren,Kierra Blakley, Dante Blakley, Kai Blakley, Ashante Blakley, Miyah Blakley, Kenyatta Blakley, Andrian Blakley; six great-grandchildren, special nephew, Raivon Speed; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.  

Services are 2 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Robinson & Son, Mortuary, Inc. conducted by, Pastor Shannon Gillard. Viewing Saturday, October 8, 2022  from 1-6 p.m. at Robinson & Son Mortuary, Inc. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
