Celebrating the Life of Mrs.Tonia Lyons Moton
 Sunrise: June 12, 1954 – Sunset: April 12, 2025


Tonia Lyons Moton was born on June 12, 1954, in McCormick, South Carolina. She was the sixth of seven children born to the late George Lyons, Sr. and the late Abie Ruth Scovin Lyons. Tonia was raised in Troy, South Carolina, and spent most of her school years in McCormick County. During her final years of high school, the family relocated to Abbeville, where she graduated from Abbeville High School in 1972.

On Saturday, April 12, 2025, Mrs. Tonia Lyons Moton peacefully departed this life at her home on 303 Edward Street in Greenwood, South Carolina. She was 70 years old.


Tonia leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and love. She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Odell Moton; one son, Odell Zimbalist Moton; one daughter, Victoria (Charles) Wilson;  grandchildren, Diamond, Draquan and Uzziah Wilson; one brother, George Lyons; and three sisters: Eldora Foster, Rebecca White, and Barbara (Robert) Simmons. She is also remembered fondly by a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and treasured friends. Tonia’s beloved dog, Chico, was her faithful companion and brought her much joy and comfort.


Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Holy Redeemer Faith Church, Look Up and Live Ministries, Officiating, Rev. Roosevelt Moton and Presiding, Rev. Jackie Hawkins. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
