Daisy Mae Lewis

Greenwood, SC- Daisy Mae Lewis, 81, of 404 Greene Street, widow of James Lewis, gained her angel wings on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at MUSC Medical Center. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late James Julian “Cricket” Richie and the late Fannie Mae Holloway Richie. She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess, National Mother of the Union Fellowship, Inc, Sunday School and Bible Study teacher, Women’s Ministry, Kitchen Missionary, and also a member of the Inspirational and Human Choir. Daisy served as a Missionary, Pastoral Care, class of 1963 graduate of Edgewood High School located in Ninety Six, an Alumni of South Carolina State University, and seating scholarship at South Carolina in Orangeburg. She is preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memories, four sons, James Lewis Jr. of  Greenwood, SC, Frank (Shaharazade) Lewis of Poolesville, MD, Thomas Lewis of Bronx, NY, and Shae (Lashieka) Williams; two daughters, Alicia (George) Lewis Henderson of Greenville, SC and Janice Lewis of Evans, GA; four brothers, Jesse Jacobs James William Richie of Fayetteville, NC, John Thomas Richie and Sherman Lamar Richie both of Greenwood, SC; two sisters, Elder Elaine (Earnest) Richie Childs of Greenwood, SC and Minister Judy Richie Rouse of Abbeville, SC; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, conducted by Archbishop Emmanuel Spearman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
