Cressie Mae Greene, 72, of 1401 Phoenix Place, Apt. 10-B, Greenwood, South Carolina, widow of Charles Anthony Greene, departed this walk of life on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Self Regional Healthcare. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina she was the daughter of the late Willie Kennedy and the late Ruby Sheppard Kennedy. She was a member of Dunham Temple C.M.E Church. Cressie Mae is preceded in death by two children, Alicia Phillips and Anthony Phillips; four brothers, Willie Lee Miller, McArthur Cannon, Ronald Miller, and Bruce Stewart; five sisters, Josephine Kennedy, Ruby Ware, Ophelia Ginyard, Odessa Miller, and Bettie Jean Jones; one brother-in-law, J.C. Jennings; and three sisters-in-law, Terri Greene, Gloria Woods, and Lynn Greene.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Raymond Kennedy and Derrick Haley both of Greenwood, SC; one daughter, Tameik Williams of Greenwood, SC; one brother, William ( Lelia Mae) Carter of Ninety Six, SC; one sister, Dorothy (James) Roundtree of Greenwood, SC; ten grandchildren, four which were reared in the home, Shrevis Phillips, Julius Williams, Landon Williams, and Jada Williams; a special friend, Michael Tompkins; eight great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Chapel of Robinson & Son Mortuary, Inc, conducted by Archbishop Emanuel Spearman. Burial will follow at the Evening Start Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. The family is at the home. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
