Cora Lee Brown Welton, 90, of 526 Haltiwanger Road, widow Robert Benny Lee Welton, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Edgefield Post Acute.
Born in Fort Mill, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Fred Brown and Jessie Davis Brown.
Mrs. Welton retired from the Greenwood Department of Social Services, where she served faithfully as a caseworker for 24 years and was a devoted member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, where she served on the Senior Choir and the Senior Missionary Society. She is a Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star Chapter 337.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two sons, Robert (Patricia) Welton of Grovetown, Georgia, and Kenny L. (Barbara) Welton of Greenville, South Carolina; one daughter, Cynthia Montgomery of Waterloo, South Carolina; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Welton will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, with Pastor Roger Rivers, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 1-6 p.m., at Robinson & Son Mortuary. The family is at the home of her daughter, 15151 Highway 221 South, Waterloo, South Carolina.
