Charles Eddie Tennant

Greenwood, SC- Charles Eddie Tennant, 68, of 230 East Cambridge Avenue, Apt. 307, husband of Mary Alice Hicks Tennant, transitioned from earth to heaven on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Self Regional Healthcare. Born in McCormick, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Willie Edward Tennant, and the late Josie Lee Anderson Tennant. He was a member of Straight Gate Church. He is preceded in death by five brothers, Sammy Lee Anderson, Willie Tennant, Tommy Lee Tennant, James Kelly Tennant, and Yank Mack Tennant; and one sister, Louise Martin.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Mary Alice Hicks Tennant of Greenwood; five brothers, Samuel Harris of Asheville, NC, Robert Tennant of Greenwood, SC, George Tennant, Kennedy “Kenneth” (Earline) Tennant of McCormick, and Reggie (Crystal) Anderson of Ninety Sic, SC; four sisters, Willie Mae Johnson of Inman, SC, Dora Brooks, Suddie D. (Roosevelt) Davis, and Shirley (Ernest) Morgan all of Greenwood; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at New Hope Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Michael Butler. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. Receiving family and friends from 4:00 until 5:30 P.M. at the Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the home of Curtis and LaKendra Renae Tennant Dansby at 506 Main Street in McCormick, SC. Please be mindful and practice social distancing and wear a mask.
