Greenwood, SC- Bennie Lee Gilchrist, 77, of 204 Moss Creek Lane, transitioned from this early life on March 12, 2025. Born in Greenwood County, he was the son of the late Addie Mae Gilchrist Goode and Sampson Boozer. He was a graduate of Edgewood in Ninety Six, South Carolina, class of 1965. He served in the U.S Army and was a truck driver for many years in Washington, D.C. where he resided for many years.
He is survived by three daughters, Ronda Gilchrist, Katressa Gilchrist Gray, and Shanetta Gilchrist of Washington, D.C.; thirteen grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; one brother, Victor Burton of Washington, D.C.; and a host of family and friends.
His truck driver CB handle was “Double Trouble”. His greeting and departing words were always…”10-4”.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the Chapel of Robinson & Son Mortuary, Inc. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com. Arrangements are being handled by Robinson and Son Mortuary Inc.
