Barbara Jean Jackson

Greenwood, South Carolina- Barbara Jean Jackson, 79, of 114 Lisa Drive, wife of Horace Jackson, departed this walk of life on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at her home. Born in Abbeville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Statom and the late Anna Laura Gray Statom. She was a member of Shady Grove A.M.E Church in Abbeville, South Carolina. She is preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn F. Martin, two brothers, Amos Tucker and Dennis Tucker, a sister-in-law, Bertha Jackson, and a brother-in-law, Joel L. Thomas.

She leaves to cherish and honor her wishes, her loving husband of “57” years, Horace Jackson of the home; one son, Andrae Jackson of the home; three brothers, Michael (Shirley) Tucker and Stanley (Jacqueline) Statom both of Abbeville, SC and Samuel (Virginia) Statom of Las Vegas, NV; six sisters, Evangelist Bessie Thomas, Patricia (David) Riley, Doris (Archie) Callaham, Rose (Harold) Martin, Connie (Robert) Norman, and Donna Young all of Abbeville, SC; four brothers-in-law, John A. Martin, McDaniel Jackson, Hayes Jackson, and Claude Jackson all of Abbeville, SC; one sister-in-law, Rebecca Norman of Abbeville, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Shady Grove A.M.E. Church in Abbeville, South Carolina, conducted by Rev. Jennifer Brown. Burial will follow at St. Goodwill Baptist Church in McCormick, South Carolina. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. The family is at the home of a sister, Donna Statom Young, 1044 Haigler Street, Abbeville, SC 29620. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
