Barbara Jean Brown Tolden

Barbara Jean Brown Tolden, 79, of 105 Manning Road, widow of Reuben Tolden, gained her angel wings on Monday, September 4, 2023, at Self Regional Healthcare. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Essie Smith Brown. She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she served on the Finance Committee and Lead of the Adult Choir. She was also the Vice President Pro Teem Brewer Alumni Association, AARP Member, Harmony Chapter #282 Order of Eastern Star, and Black Cat Motorcycle Spouse Group.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Melissa (Milton) Vann of Conyers, GA; two sons, Reuben (Cynthia) Tolden II of Raleigh, NC, and Christian Durant Tolden of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Furman (Norene) Brown of Cleveland, OH; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends to morn her passing.

Services will be at noon on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Harris United Methodist Church, conducted by Pastor Thessa Smith. Burial will follow in the Evening Star Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-5:30 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2023, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
